  • Who does Renaissance Debt Solutions work for?

We work entirely for you, our client. We go to great lengths to assure that you make the right decision in dealing with your debt problem.
  • Will I still be able to use my credit cards?

All unsecured accounts in the program must be closed as a condition of participation in our Debt Settlement Program.
  • Could a debt management company help consolidate credit?

Debt Management companies are also good for some folks but not all - we work with a Debt Management firm that negotiates with your creditors to lower your interest rates thus making more of your payment go to the principle and getting you out of debt sooner. Of course you would have to qualify for this program. Again, we believe that we need to have multiple programs to fit your needs and not cram you into any one debt relief program.

  • Why should I hire Renaissance Debt Solutions to help me?

Unlike most companies in this industry, we have a number of products providing a number of solutions specifically for your situation. Most companies offer one or two solutions and claim those solutions are appropriate for everyone. We take the time to get to know you so we can be sure the program you enter will actually solve your problem and match your lifestyle with your goals. If you enter one of our Debt Solutions Program you do so knowing it is the right choice for you.

  • Is debt settlement a good program?

Although Debt Settlement is a legitimate way of solving your problem to clear debt without the need for bankruptcy or credit counseling or a debt consolidation program, it does not work for everyone. This is why we have many different programs to match you with the program that suites your need and budget.

  • Is bankruptcy a good option?

Bankruptcy may be an option to get rid of debt but we can discuss other options that will help you avoid bankruptcy - we see bankruptcy as the final option. The bankruptcy laws have changed quite drastically since 2005. Most folks can not afford to file for bankruptcy now days. When we speak with you, we will cover ALL options available to ALL consumers.

  • How does your program work?

The ultimate goal is to have financial freedom to do what you want when you want. You are not in a position to do that with the debt load you are carrying right now. Have you ever dreamed about how much money you could save if you were able to payoff credit card debt and be debt free? We want to turn that dream into a reality. We go over a strict budget with you to see if we can find more monies to apply towards your debt to get rid of your unsecured debt as fast as possible. Then we will show you how to take that money and apply it towards your secured debt to be totally debt free. This will be done with a certified financial planner. You will also receive a financial success kit to educate you a little more and then finally you will work with your certified financial planner to put your monies away in a savings vehicle designed with your financial goals in mind.

  • Will I have to pay income taxes on the money I save?

Banks are required to report canceled debts over $600 to the IRS and you are required to report the same as income on your yearly tax return. The IRS does permit you to write off any "income" from canceled debts up to the amount by which you were "insolvent" at the time.

  • How do I know what is happening with my money and my program in general?

Every client is issued secured access to a 3rd party bank account that is set up in their name so they have total control over those monies. There, you can get up to the minute detail of your program balance as well as other important information and data regarding your program. The other way to find out is to call your Program Advocate.

  • Who has control of my money?

Ultimately you do. We provide services as a convenience specific to the program, but only under your direction. The money being set aside each month is yours and you are free to take it and leave the program anytime you wish. Simply contact your Program Advocate and you will be directed on how to access the funds.

  • What if my goal is to buy a home?

It would not be wise or practical to purchase a home with debt issues hanging over your head. If buying a home is your goal, utilizing means to eliminate debt is your wisest first step

  • This process sounds easy. Is it?

We wish we could say it is. In life, there is no free lunch. You may have uncomfortable moments during your time on the program. Perhaps creditors are calling or you are receiving threatening letters. Coming up with the deposit each month may be painful, especially when an obstacle is thrown in front of you. Our hope is that our hand holding and professionalism makes the process a bit easier. We also hope that when you finish the program, you will feel a sense of great accomplishment, yet at the same time, remember the pain just enough to assure that you avoid depending on debt in the future.

  • How do I begin?

The first step is to participate in a fairly brief free debt consultation with one of our Certified National Debt Counselors so a plan and program can be designed. We will walk you through the rest of the process from there.
